A New Loop in My Journey: Falling in Love with Knitting

A New Loop in My Journey: Falling in Love with Knitting

For years, crochet has been my safe space. It’s where Life in Loops began, where I poured love into our handdyed cotton,  patterns, and the community we’ve built together. But recently, I picked up a pair of knitting needles — and to my surprise, I fell head over heels in love.

Knitting with Life in Loops cotton has opened up a whole new world of creativity for me. Our cotton yarn has always been my go-to for crochet projects because of its softness, drape, and breathable feel, but seeing how it transforms on the needles? It’s magic.

The stitches line up so neatly, the fabric feels buttery in your hands, and every row grows into something beautifully fluid.

What I love most is how knitting slows me down in a different way to crochet. It’s meditative, calming, and makes me appreciate the yarn itself even more. Watching our cotton glide across the needles has been a reminder of why I started dyeing in the first place: to create yarn that inspires and connects people to their craft.

So if you’ve ever been curious about knitting, maybe this is your little nudge. Whether you’re a crocheter like me or brand-new to yarn crafts, Life in Loops cotton is a beautiful choice to learn with. It’s soft on the hands, forgiving on the needles, and turns every project into something you’ll be proud to show off.

I’ll still always be a crocheter at heart — but now, I get to say I’m a bit of a knitter too. And that feels like such a joyful new chapter.

I am making "A Day Out" blanket that was a make-along a few years back with our Caramel Strawberry Shake Box(es)

Happy looping (and knitting),
Kirsty 💕
