Ma Ma’s Tote & Ma Ma’s Blanket – A Heartfelt Tribute
Some stitches carry more than yarn — they carry stories.
The story of Ma Ma’s Blanket began long before the pattern ever did.
When I designed the blanket, I wanted it to feel like that memory — familiar, comforting, and built from love that lingers. It’s more than a crochet pattern; it’s a piece of family history that warms from the inside out.
Ma Ma’s Tote came next, like the next chapter in the story. It’s the kind of bag Ma Ma would have used herself — practical, well-loved, ready to carry everything from yarn to tomorrow’s plans. A reminder that handmade things are meant to be lived with, not kept for special occasions. They collect life along the way — a stray bit of fluff, a faint scent of imperial leather soap, a story folded into every seam.
Both designs were created as a tribute — to the women who came before us, who taught us that beauty is found in the doing. That a quiet evening with a hook and yarn can be as sacred as a prayer. That every blanket and every bag can hold more than we realise.
So, this is for Ma Ma.
Because the best things we make don’t end when they’re finished — they keep us connected, heart to hand, generation to generation.
