🌸 2026 Make-Along - HexiBlooms Blanket
Bring a little colour into every month of 2026 with the 2026 Make-Along - HexiBlooms Blanket.
Built from simple hexagon motifs that bloom together into a floral patchwork, this blanket celebrates slow making, playful colour, and the joy of watching something beautiful grow month by month.
Each hexagon is small enough to finish in a quiet evening, making this an ideal take-anywhere project. Stitch a few on the couch, during a lunch break, or while travelling — they add up faster than you think.
For 2026, we’re pairing the pattern with our Gemstone Colour of the Month yarns, inspired by each month’s birthstone — from Garnet in January to Aquamarine in March and beyond. Whether you’re joining Hexi Blooms, The Long Weekend, or both, you’ll be part of a calm, colourful year of making.
Each month you’ll receive:
🌸 50g of our Gemstone of the Month in 4ply cotton
🌸 50g of White in 4ply cotton
🌸 Access to the digital Hexi Blooms Pattern (PDF) with step-by-step written instructions, stitch counts, and photo references
🌸 Video tutorials for the main hexagon and join — beginner-friendly and easy to follow
Some months, you’ll receive 100g of White instead of 50g — giving you the chance to start joining your blanket as you go, at no extra cost to you.
Subscribe in December to guarantee your first shipment is posted on the 1st of each new month.
No reminders needed — your gemstone yarn arrives right on time for each new colour.
Because the hexagons are compact and repetitive, Hexi Blooms is perfect for slow weekends, travel, or evenings on the couch.
My motifs measure about 10 cm across using a 3.5 mm hook. If your tension differs, just adjust your hook size to match the gauge so your yarn will stretch through the full year.
The yarn provided will be for the suggested layout only, but you are welcome to move your hexi's to whereever makes you happiest
💌 Don’t forget to join our Facebook group – The Loopy Lair – to share your creations. I’d love to see what you make with these yarn cakes!
